Testing Note Entry

By Arcana on September 6, 2020 9:53 pm

I tried doing some alternative note entry this song to see if it speeds things up. The song itself is pretty uninspired, and there's some timing issues with the arp that I didn't figure out before I ran out of time.

I experimented a little bit with Zebra2 and Stutter Edit also to see what levels of glitch could be cool. I think I need to refine them a little more.

The song itself is really nothing special. I might actually use it as a basis on top of which to experiment with more wild sound design and rhythm ideas later.

I thought it was cool, but good on you to figure out your equipment.  I still have to figure out how to get my Arturia Keystep to play nicely with my JU-06

It's interesting to see so many people working with hardware these days. Four or so years ago (when I started with WB) there wasn't a lot of synths but in the last year there seems to be many more people using them. I've been using a pretty hardware heavy workflow for 4 years or so but many of the songs more recently have been software-focused due to me focusing more on arrangement and composition instead of sound design.
