Sliding Away

By Arcana on September 27, 2020 10:20 pm

I started working on this (a rearrangement of an OHC song) but I realized that I'd rather be doing other song projects and basically stopped without recording a chorus. Song's incomplete, sorry.

Did you feel the freeze of my love
Sliding off your skin
The dark over you rains again
Washing off the emptiness

Have you seen the sweetness in the ponds
Shining on your lids
Working with the sand grain by grain
All it leaves are scratches within

There was a time when we were clean
Innocent. No burdens

Now your dust covers me
Caked on.

Very nice piano work!

I realise that incomplete probably encompasses mixing too, but I would definitely have put those synths nice and high. The bass is nice too. A complete version is well worth the effort here I reckon.

I really like the process of doing composition and arrangement, so chances are that if I didn't finish arranging the song, I probably didn't finish mixing it either. sad That said, even for short "rapid projects" I don't tend to mix very well and should try to work on it such that mixing is done more as I go rather than "at the end" so to speak, so notes like yours are helpful! Thanks for listening!
