Mountains (week2)

By Apticx on January 11, 2026 10:51 pm

During the summer my girlfriend and i hiked into the mountains and when she went to search for small emerald deposits in the water of a small river which is flowing through an active emerald mine and i decided to walk up a bit and enjoy the view. While i was taking in the moment i whipped out my m8 real quick, sat down on the first rock i found and wrote this melody. It was an amazing experience with the amazing view, smell of the clean air, the warm sun on my back, the sounds of nature and the m8 in my hands.

The past few days i have been wishing to go hike again soon and escape the grey and boring city to go somewhere beautiful which i tried to put into this song.

Written and produced exclusively on m8. Logic pro used for exporting to m4a
I hope you enjoy!

in case anyone is wondering, this was the view:

Coming in hot just listened to your week 1 so I've got high expectations. M8 no less. Let's go.

Yeah dude, this is quality chip right here. Hot chip. G'damn, when the drums and fat chords come in at like a minute, bud I feel spoken to personally. Favoriting this and last week's.

The birds made me realize I'm just about fed up with winter. It feels like dreaming of a summers day that's not actually here (yet). And I got that vibe before reading your description, so you definitely transported the view successfully! Nice job. smile

thanks for commenting! yeah all i care about right now is the days getting longer again.

Really nice! Love how that first chord lands in the intro, and just the overall vibe.

Yeeeessss!!! Uplifting chiptunes!!!! This reminds me of the opening scenes in Fez! Really nice!

Just soaking it in it’s so good!

Great track! Loving the SID-type leads!

Thank you so much. Also love your week 2 submission a lot. Listened to it a few times already and i keep coming back!
Make sure to try it with m8. Its such a great experience writing chiptune melodies with it!

Arps!! ooo the pads are lovely and that percussion is restrained but clear. The mountains couldn't ask for a better theme

Thank you! I really appreciate the kind words! I've never really made anything like that before, but I love how it turned out. Lol to be honest I don't even know where to start with chiptune (besides obviously using wavsynth with a low size). Will have to just start messing around with it, I guess!

Still need to figure out week 3... Good luck for yours. looking forward to hearing it!

Loved this. That soaring lead is glorious.
