First of all big shoutout to Huabun: https://weeklybeats.com/huabun for playing the rhodes ish solo which i intended to be like a few bars at most but now its pretty much the whole song so yay, less work for me!

Besides that this one serves as background music for some youtube videos im working on right now which is the reason for its laid back sound signature and easygoing groove and easy to follow loops.

For some reason it was super hard making it sound "low fidelity" because im so used to mixing to "ideal targets".

Also shoutout to antler for the comment last week for this amazing name.

I can 100% agree with this title

Great playing on this one. The loose pitch on some of the keys makes this really stylish.

So good! Huabun killed it on the keys!

And love the vibe of this. Lo-fi, but not in a "I'm going to put this on in the background and forget it exists" kinda way.
Very cool!

Great bassline too!

Agree! Turned this laid back, slow thing into a jazzy groovy thing i just cant help but bop my head with.

glad you enjoy it! its definitely something i usually dont do with its loose nature. usually im very heavily focussing in control of everything so giving huabun a lot of the stage to just do his thing was certainly interesting

Glad you got the chance to turn your process on it's head. I did a similar/but different thing with my beat this week. It's always cool to throw your own rule book out the window and try something new!

This is awesome.

Super laid back vibes on this one. I could really imagine this as a background tune some someone exploring a waterfall in super 8 or soemthing.

Loving the solo. It's got summer vibes, despite it being February smile

This would go well with the game Flashback!

Oh dang that piano.. nice.

What a chill vibe! smile

Love this, great keys playing and that little slide on the bassline is perfection!

thanks! also shoutout to huabun for the keys

This is real nice n easy goin’.  Ah geez the keys melody starts taking on an 80’s feel good comedy intro vibe around 1:40!

So so good. The drum pattern here and sound selection for it is so nice. Especially with tied to that bass groove. Am I hearing slight sidechaining?

yeah, the drums arent a loop but sequenced manually / midi so i sidechained lowend of the track to the kick and snare

Sidechaining the low end is so interesting! I have to try it. It definitely adds that pumping effect without taking too much out of the high end. Well done

Very chill little groove.
