Week 10 - Hollow Walls

By Anon_Buster on March 13, 2022 8:20 pm

I got something out this week. Possibly a genre bender? This one gave me trouble with getting the track loud enough. I focused too much on the bass and forgot to give the bass instruments adequate treble and mid range presence. After using multi-band compressors, ducking the bass isntruments with a 60-80ms release after the kick, and decreasing bass frequencies to raise overall frequencies, I have something that's closer to what I like.

all these sounds got such brilliant impact... no worries about loudness when you get the mix just right as it is here smile

The bass sounds huge, but it doesn't overwhelm the rest of the track.  Really nice production job all in all.

That was very nice! Huge beat and very interesting exotic scale and sounds here. Both modern and traditional!

Wow I really enjoy the way this track weaves through a whole lot of different sounds but manages to feel cohesive and harmonious. Really nice work.

Love the sound of that opening sorta detuned melody.  It mixes in so nicely with the drums n bass.  Well done!
