Trapped in the City Lights

What to do when there isn't enough time to make the track that's on your mind? Spit out a pop-inspired track. At the store where I work, one of my employees has been playing The Weekend frequently through our oversized tower speakers. While frustratedly staring at a screen reviewing inventory, I had a beat thrust upon my body. I haven't bopped to The Weekend in ...ever. I've never bopped with the The Weekend. But those songs. So I threw a couple sounds down, made some awful 1990s drum beat, and put in a lead synth as if it were a vocal line. The song has three main sections, so feel free to skip around while listening.

The backstory to this one is amusing for sure.  I think you managed to push out a fun track in the meantime.  I guess we can thank the Weekend for that.  smile

Haha i am with you there with having to cope with music that is pushed through your environment. At the local supermarket, for some reason they play Help by the Beatles. Hey, you could argue this is great, but they play it looped ALL DAY LONG. I also forgot to mention it's not the record version but a midi version of Help by the Beatles. I am sure this is forbidden by the Geneva convention.

I like how super basic the lead sound is, this just works perfectly with the concept and the track. smile

I really enjoyed this track. It has a nice groove, there's a good momentum to it, and the different parts keep it really interesting. It also reminds me of the music I feel drawn to make on my opz whenever I'm on the train.
