PROFESSOR SENSEI

believe it or not, i make hiphop a lot for fun. there's nothing more creatively liberating to me than just loading up a sampler and going crazy with edits. I actually like the clashing that occurs melodically and harmonically when you layer tracks and samples together. it's like making a collage of different moods.

for this track i recorded a bunch of different guitar loops myself and resampled resampled resampled them into other tracks. I even did the oldskool "low end theory" way of making basses like on those old hardware samplers: i think it came out decent. i've collaborated with daimyo on stuff like this in the past and it's something I want to explore a lot more during these weekly beats. maybe one day I'll build up the courage to actually do something with this kind of material. but i'm not a rapper.

and s/o to @Paint_Roller for providing the piano track!

aww yiss. great vibes.

Daaaamn this is smooth.

i'd listen to more hiphop if it had more melodic elements like this track does.  oh yeah.

Grand

But why didn't you rap over it???

Love this track, great work!

Damn dude.  Great work again!

Very nicely done.  Excellent use of the guitars.

The guitars are awesome and when the beat kicks in ohhh nod yo head hell yeah.  I was going to type something else but I'm still nodding my head.  Suhweet track!

Chill vibes. The best vibes.

so chillaxing. you the man dan

Nicely done!

Absolutely nailed those drum sounds. The guitar is very mesmerizing on this one! Love those keys like sounds in the intro a lot also!

Love those guitar layers, very distinctive

just nice and really in a order that is not this

I was gonna say "aww yiss" but Tri Angles beat me to it.

I look forward to hearing more in this vein.

Wonderful track, thanks for sharing!

One of my favourite of this week. Superb smile

guitar was spot on. Love the quaility of the recording. From a person that listens to hip hop though it was too simple without a vocal hook. Maybe work on chops and breaks. Or maybe even go the math rock route and less of a hip hop feel.

Very chill and laidback tune, I dig instrumental trip-hop stuff a lot too. Yay Added!

bingo

Thank you, I really enjoyed listening to this one.  The Nujabes Jr. comment rang true, especially the first part.

so dope beatsz. Add some harmonic exciting to the drum samples could really add a sparkle. Ozone brozone! sweet riffs, good mix.

gonna try this style as well this year! Awesome Daniel, sounds like a skateboard movie soundtrack.

so much mad chill. nice work!

Great work here! keep it up!
