You Have No Future in the Colony

By alonemusic on March 15, 2026 11:28 pm

I feel its a habit to say "oh I was busy this week.." but trust me.. I was big_smile Worked right up until the deadline to get this track and artwork done for y'all.

This started as an excuse to play with 200bpm, however it ended up being a 100bpm jam.. a weird tempo really. I enjoyed working on the arrangement, but with time slipping away, I think I overcooked the delay and echo in places.

delay cooked to perfection. This is do dreamy. Love the artwork. Super nice change up around 1:10. Lots of great variation in this that all flows so well together. Really impressive work for only a week!!! Killer work, faving.

There's a nice sense of wonder, exploration, and playfulness to this, and it builds to epic proportions.  It would make a great soundtrack for a fantasy movie.

I guess that person felt happy about getting thrown out of the colony haha, this is full of hope and forward movement, uplifting in a nuanced way.

Didn't notice anything about the delay being problematic, if anything there is a bit of harshness in the highs in the last parts but nothing that prevented me to listen to the whole thing

oh and I absolutely love that artwork!

really truly quite beautiful - after just reading some more about alone music this definitely fits in the canon. late nights, perhaps solo drives, or adventures with friends. such a vibe! amazing to have focused and pulled something like this out in a week.

agreed that it feels optimistic at times. i just saw some trailers for "Split Fiction" and this track i feel would do well in that world or similar, especially with the descriptions on the album art.

amazingly well done!

Such a comforting feel to this with that opening arp melody.  It gets some lovely support from the laid back drums and guitar vibes.  Love those lil fills on the drums!  Really uplifting second section that feels heroic and triumphant. Also it was really cool to see how you put the artwork together.  Excellent track and artwork!

awesome journey, I enjoyed every bit of it, is a happy emotional track, lot of hope heart

Inspiring, uplifting, and just plain cool. Tracked you down on Bandcamp.

beautiful stuff, even at a distance.

It opens up so beautifully around 2:45. Just a great combination of heartfelt melodies and soft glitchy beaty drums

Huge. Really emotional and beautiful. Great work

Thank you! I've been having thoughts about how to use my game boy camera in art work for a while, so I was pleased to get a very silly brainwave.

THank you so much!

WONDERFUL!
Each change in instrumentation in this piece was such a beautiful surprise to me, yet it was all so coherent.
I'm in awe of your mastery of all these different instruments and how you can bring them together so seamlessly, and bring so much emotion into an instrumental piece too!
Really exceptional work.
