With A Single Cloud

By alonemusic on April 7, 2024 4:23 pm

It's been a while since I let myself go big with a track, and with a few hours free on sunday with a bagel in my belly and one too many coffees I thought 'eh, why not?'.
This kinda began as an idea to loop guitars and try to get something kinda 'folktronica' vibe (remember that?) but I got a little lost and after writing the little build, I thought fuck it, post rock it is.

The title comes from a collection of manga by Kuniko Taunita that I enjoyed last year and I saw on my shelf.

lovely! the drums shine for me in the first part, and how the synth pads lift the mood. I'm flooaatttinnnggggg! second part also great and uplifting but with a tint of darkness.

great sounds all around. Reminds me of Eiko Ishibashi which I love, and I read recently some interview about her music and darkness. worth checking out.

A wonderful post-rock build. Nice work!

When I first listened, I was thinking "That harmonica lead is pretty loud the first time it comes in, but later it fits when there's more happening musically." But I guess with what's happening starting at 3:12, that little harmonica really is nothing to fret over big_smile

It starts so lovely, the one cloud is like a bed going on a gentle adventure. Then it becomes thunder and lightning and now the adventure is truly on.

Woah, 3:11 caught me off guard. I like the mix of crunchy guitars and cavernous bell/synth sounds.
