Heart of the Spiral

By alonemusic on April 5, 2026 4:34 pm

This week I was in a bit of silly mood. I missed the chance to see Carpenter Brut earlier this year becasue of work and schedules and stuff, and I thought, hey, why not have a play making a bit aggressive synth sound? So theres one of those buried in this track.

I also felt like I wanted to do somethign a bit more chiptune than I have recently, so this has the good ol' NES and GBAs pushed right up in the mix. Good times! Really enjoyed making this one, but I really do need to get out of Drop-D sometime soon...

Art is an experiment with some low-poly 3d models I found for my 3d printer, spray paint, gaffer tape and a game boy camera.

Oooooh, that low-key restrained intro into that aggressive main part is awesome!

oh this gets retro nasty quickly. certified banger.

This is some epic chase/dire straits music. I love it so much. Great sound, perfect build. Just wow.

Mmmm some nice post rock sounds buried in this mix.

Cinematic and then it goes off like an absolute train!

Getting those Carpenter Brut feels live and clear.

Fantastic work as always, truly an epic journey

Awesome intro that makes me feel like i'm in a night driving racing sim \m/ also just made me think of that 80s show 'Street Hawk' Love how it builds with the post rock guitars and jan hammer like leads.  Epic track!

Thanks! I don't go aggressive often, I'm a soft spongy boy, but it is fun.

I've got tickets to see CB and Health later this year, so I'm sure I will be returning to this well.

I've been watching clips of Street Hawk. Incredible. As an 80s/90s kid I must have missed this while I was trying to find any channel playing Airwolf...
