Happy end of WB2024!

I feel a bit bad for not making it all the way this year, with only... I think 23 weeks done.. but I didn't set out to do it all, just relax, make noise when I can, and focus on other things (namely, travel, job and life).. and that was fine! I almost didn't make this last track as I am travelling over the holidays, but then thought.. hey, what is this new plugin that I've got a trail for? hey why don't I do one last beat for the year.. and whatdya know, here we are with a 10 minute long epic to close out the year. sorry not sorry.

So this track is a lot of messing about in airports, hotels and apartments. A bit of mashing record on my phone while walking about and a lot of evening downtimes.

Enjoy! Congrats to y'all for finishing another year, even if you only did one or two tracks, that is still more than none. Stay creative. Be into your own shit.

Oh and I even, for the first time this year, did a lil art for the track.

Alone <3s you

Nice to hear your music again, the ending section was killer and epic! I did the same -- made it to about week 40 and then decided to take a break/quit. But you did the full run back in 2022 so you got nothing to prove. Excellent music as always, and I still love the artwork you do. Could I inquire about commissioning an album cover for some music I might put together later in 2025? If so, let me know what's the best way I can reach you smile

Holy shiiiiiiiiit dude! This song is absolutely nuts!!! There's SO MANY good things happening here, like I want to touch on everything but there's so many things going on and it's constantly shifting I can't keep up my typing with my thoughts racing alongside track. Those arps are delicious. Perfect reverb on that clap/crack sound. Feels like so many layers, but perfectly balanced. I love how you give us little tastes of something, then just change it up. omg this section at 5:30 is blowing my mind. 5:30 to 6:06 is some of the best stuff I've heard in a while. I gotta favorite this before I forget. I gotta ask how did you make this? There's such a lovely story unfolding here. And all these different sounds resonate so well together. This song has injected an excitement in me that tbh I haven't felt for a while. I lol'd at 8:30, so great that you put that break in there. I was left like whaaaaa and then it hit and everything was right in the world. The time signatures here are tremendous, what a groove. jfc this just keeps changing and evolving. Damn. Dude i feel like i just got hit by a cosmic train after listening to that. What an inspiring journey that was.

Thank you so much for such a nice wall of text big_smile
It really is just kind of layering a lot of the same thing in Ableton, I try and make sure something is always changing, despite the notes and chords often looping. This one was a lot of introducing a sound underneath things, then bringing that forward and riffing on it. Also working fast and making weird mistakes (the whole break down was becasue I copy and pasted the chords a bit wrong, then chopped the drums up underneath)
Thank you again heart

This was playing for a couple minutes before I noticed I felt a little heart-racy. Then I started listening and I'm only halfway through but WOW. It's like you squeezed all of Weekly Beats into one epic, kick-em-in-the-face track. It's all so crisp and vast and brilliantly arranged...I am in awe. The quiet bit just past the 6 minute mark is delicate and I was WAITING for the moment at 8:38 (and was not disappointed).

All your work is great and this is no exception. 10 minutes worth of it is a very nice treat for the end of the year.
This definitely makes up for missing weeks, which you didn't need to do in the first place.
