Cults of Symmetry V, VI and VII

By alonemusic on December 28, 2022 1:46 pm

So here we are at the end heart

First the track(s).

V. Engines of Devouring Machines
VI. A Billion Fading in Each Other's Arms
VII. Embers of Us All

So as this is the finale, it has a little of everything, but also has to bring our story to a close. The hardest part was getting the mix ok enough to handle the quiet parts.

Also, what kind of monster would I be if I didn't give you a link to the piece as a whole? Well, I'm trying to put it together into a video, but if I mess that up, I'll update this with at least a bandcamp link big_smile

Edit:
Here we go.. the full 20 minute thing:

End Edit.

But anyway, this tries to answer the question: How the hell do you write something that closes out not just a 20 minute long track, but also a year that has been so very tough in lots of different ways? What I came up with was kinda "well, just end it three times" which is how we got here.

Art!:

So that is it, 2022? Congrats to everyone who made any music this year, extra back pats to the "all 52 club" or whatever, the effort to even do 1, 2, 20, 35 tracks is huge, and 52, is, at times ridiculous. I'm gonna take a well earned break that is for sure. And to be honest, I'll have to think again when/if I commit to it again in 2024, but even if I don't make it, I wish you all a great new year, and please all keep creating, its been beautiful.

WOOOOOT! Epic uplift! Congrats on 52 weeks and Happy New Year! heart

You weren't here for 2020, and the power and energy you brought for this year shows it was for the best.
I love the philosophy of ending it three times, it also saves us from finding a place for it in the opera, it's the finale, all its own, of all things (just gotta write the story about it, which these titles are amazing for the 2018 cult destroying the 2022 machines).
I, no, we really hope to hear from you again.
Your songs gives us tinglies (E)
Thank you so much for this year and all the lovely, beautiful music. (S)

Have a happy new year.

Beautiful epic tracks! Lovely uplifting energy! I enjoyed a lot of your tracks this year, thanks for the good vibes! Happy new year!

I did it!  I listened to the 21min version on bandcamp

YOU ABSOLUTE MADLAD.

that was like an entire year's worth of ideas and emotions in one piece.  I know that's what you were going for, but WOW - you really nailed it!

and the ART!  love the tarot references in there.

I don't know what to say, kinda stunned - congrats.  you are always and epic musician, but this was just the peak.

great job, happy 2023 heart see you next time I hope!

Huge epic track.  The first has an uplifting getting things done mood to it and a sweet transition into the somber quiet theme of the second section.  Such a nice cinematic progression between the different themes especially as it amps up at the end and releases with calmness.  The whole epic feel of the track reminds me of the REPRISE tracks at the end of film scores where they showcase all of the main themes.  Excellent work!  I hope you have an awesome 2023!  Happy New Year!

Massive celebratory sound. This one is an epic. Congrats on making it to the end, feels good being part of the All 52 Club, wishing you a happy new year. smile

YES! I had Clint Mansell's score to The Fountain on repeat in early December, and the last two tracks defo do the whole 'big ending the quiet reprise' which I wanted to try to do. Thank you so much, and a great 2023 to you too heart

I think the All 52 club should be a badge we can all wear (and explain to other people "you see there is this website, right...." Thank you so much, and happy new year to you too!

Makes me speechless and überhappy. This masterpiece will be a favourite companion throughout the year. Have a great 2023!
