Crawling up the spine

By Alex Fun on April 4, 2020 3:53 am

So typically in my projects I have what I call a "junkyard" and thats just a place at the very very far end beyond the song where I throw all the parts that I don't use but don't want to get rid of (just incase). This week's beat is strictly made of the junkyard pieces I would have never used for anything else. I didn't let myself write any new parts. I only allowed editing of the audio. 3 hours nonstop. It was kind of a pain in the ass to get all the parts together and start arranging but once I got in the zone it worked out decently and became fun.

this is bad ass... big_smile dark and creepy vibe, cinematic feel... really like it. Now I'm going to go mine some of my own junk pile... look what you've done!

Thanks! And yeah I’d encourage everybody to do that. I’ll be checking in on your beat next week lol

Love the range of sounds. The junkyard sounds like a dark place with pent up angst for being neglected. This is bad ass!  Where are you getting your orchestral hits?  Looking for something like that myself.  Samples remind me a bit of EBN. Great work!

It all goes together so well though.

They're from a Serum preset pack called Coda. Made by Echo Sound Works I believe. Tweaked a couple settings to get it to sit where I wanted it.
