Rymo

Written entirely on Dirtywave M8 Tracker
Light mastering in Audacity (normalizing/limiting/compressing).

A continuation of last week's track's outro, which was the previous week's outro, which was the previous week's outro, which...

(Do not pay too much attention to the following adrenaline withdrawal and fatigue crash down rant.)
Got locked in a loop using a few samples with unknown copyright, so had to trash the first two ideas.
Time was running out, getting late, had to rush it in the last 30 minutes.
What a train wreck, too bad, was really liking the Moby vibe after the intro.
Yet another track I'd like to revisit. (Isn't that what I say for almost all of my WBs?)

Public domain sample used: John and Ruby Lomax 1939 Cornfield Holler.

Thanks for listening.

Ha, the vocal sample does indeed remind me of Moby a bit. I love the chords coming in along the way. They fit quite well with the mood of the vocal sample. And nice teaser at the end!

Two other friends also said, unprompted, that it made them think of Moby.
One told me it reminded of Praga Kahn and Jestofunk, will have to look them up.
As always, thanks for listening!

Love the high alert feel with the intro.  Definitely feelin the Moby ala Play vibes.  The faded chords with the vocal sample are a good combo and the fill at the end totally makes this track.  It's like a dream sequence smile Excellent work! (no train wreck seen here)

You're too good. Nice idea of a dream sequence, where the fill wakes you up to something entirely different.
I love this community, always coming up with excellent, different inspirations that you wouldn't come up yourself with.

(I should stop writing a description when the pressure comes down, ha ha, wasn't in a good place yesterday, the lateness and exhaustion almost made me giving up. Glad I held down.)

Thanks for listening! Have a great week.

I really dig the contemplative / introspective nature of this loop and how it evolves from spooky start to something that's clear-headed and determined. I also really love the hi hat pattern

Love the use of the sample.

Cool drive. Abrupt ending. smile

If this outro is the intro to next week, I'll be looking forward to that.
The rest is nice too.

love this vibe and looking forward to future expansion. the drums at the end promises some great energy next week too!

Awesome sample, super creepy

Very cool downbeat vibes.

Great choice of chords on the pad as well locking with the insistent bass.

Holy crap this is awesome. Its like one of those brief moments of musical respite Lynch will drop into his films, 90 seconds on the road with a cigarette and only the headlights and lane markers in Lost Highway and then back to the nightmare fever dream at hand... really great. Loved it heart

Steering from last week's outro often tends to merge a few sounds that wouldn't come together in the first place.
Then, preparing the outro for the next week's intro also often steers things in yet another direction (although this time it's a bit meeker).
Thanks for listening!

Thanks for listening, sorry for the abrupt ending!

You know it will be, I'll try not to let you down.
Thanks, Spider.

Next week will be another vibe altogether, for sure.
Thanks for listening! Have a great week.

Although the track has still a long way to go (too many shortcuts and cheats, ha ha), it means a lot coming from you, thanks Nick!

You make it sound so appealing, it's like you're talking about another track altogether!
Glad you liked it. Have an excellent week.

I love this. It shifts into so many things and works all so well. Opening to end, lovely.

Hey, thanks for coming by!
The opening and ending MUST be different and be continued the next week, that's the one rule I've set upon myself since week 5, so it'll be a few bumpy rides.
Thanks for listening. 🙏

3x longer and a drop into a faster drum beat, PLEASE!! (Oh wait I just heard the ending. Hopefully next week we get the bigger section of this awesome sound world?)

You know the old-timey vocal samples are the best!

I’ve provided the bundle, YOU do it! 😂
I probably won’t revisit this theme until next year, this week’s track will have a lot to play with already as the friendly sample challenge contributions are pretty inspiring.
Thanks for listening and your enthusiasm! 🙏

Loving the Moby vibes, the sample works really well with the solid beat.

Would be cool to see a couple of these spun out into full fledged tracks. This one sounds like it could go a bunch of places. Nice one!

It’ll definitely happen next year.
There’s still a long way to go before that, but I’m torn between redoing each week’s track the week corresponding, or just selecting a few favorites and up the producing game on these by spending a few weeks on them.
Time will tell.
Thanks for listening, as always, appreciated every week!
