Apsara Overdrive

The Digitone journey continues: discovered the machine was very good at doing electro sounds so I tried my hand at something in this genre. I tried to step up my sound design game and learnt how to use fills, song mode and conditions. Ableton only helped a tiny bit with the mixing, but the jam was not further edited smile

The title stems from a Drexciya-inspired lore that I'm coming up with: what if the Angkor Wat temples were artifacts from a distant civilisation, a complex system activated after lighting struck its stones, bending space and time? Don't know what to do with that, will figure it out with upcoming tracks big_smile

Thanks for listening!

very bouncy, very fun smile

That faux scratch sound is super fun!

Fun sound; the scratch adds a lot and everything sits well (except maybe that prominent snare could stand changing up a few times).

Nice! I don't know music theory but the tonal shift at 2:04 was cool.

look out for we are getting FONKY over here!
this sounds so good!

Yes, thanks! It was fun to make (can't remember exactly but basically a pitch modulation) but I wasn't expecting it to work so well in the track

Thank you very much! I agree the snare is a bit too static and should have been EQd, I tried to put it down in the final mix but it isn't working so well imho.

Haha, yeah I agree! it's my take on the wild theories of electricity-generating pyramids I guess lol

Thank you very much! I was trying to spice things up since the track only uses two chords ^^'
