Grumpy

By Abludo on August 10, 2020 12:01 am

I decided to come back to an old LMMS project, and pleasantly surprised myself, fitting in some lyrics I wrote about being frustrated with not having enough time. The Clap samples are collected myself, see if you can spot where the start of the bar shifts wink

Chorus
Time makes me grumpy
It’ll never confront me
It always runs out on me
And shuts the door
Time isn’t nice to me
At least not usually
But unsurprisingly
I’ll always want more

Verse 1
I’ll never get anything done
My mind goes on and on
And now the day is gone
That’s another one
I’ll wait for the sun
And consciousness will come
So my time will run
Out again

Verse 2
I never ever seem to win
Cos I’m always thinking
Of how I’m trying
To stop time flying
I think I’ll just pretend
To plan for next weekend
As if I’ll have more time then
Will I ever have some to spend?

Bridge
Time always fills up my time (always fills up my time)
Time always fills up my mind
Why do I take all my time
Trying to make up my mind

That's very well done. I'd guess the shift is at 1:40.

well I'd say between 2 mins and 2:12, but it's actually your perception really. The whole song actually starts the bar in that place, but the prominent drums and vocals pretend that the bar starts a beat later. it's an interesting effect.
