I didn’t manage to make a beat last week - the first time this year that I’ve not done it - I’ve been very busy with work and just had no time. It’s been so long since I wrote lyrics but I just haven’t had anything to write about. It’s a shame cos lyrics make a song so much better and more interesting. So I wrote a song about not writing anything.

I had a flanger on a track and accidentally monitored myself and it sounded cool so I made that the effect for the vocals. I also made all of the “filtered white noise” sounds by just imitating them with my mouth and it worked incredibly well!

It’s been a while since I wrote something
Even though I try, I just write nothing
What do I write when nothing’s happening?
I’ll just describe this thing I’m feeling

I’ve got nothing left, got nothing left
