Black Forest Dusk

By Abludo on March 27, 2022 10:03 pm

I spent a lot of this week hiking in the Black Forest, Freiburg, before being shut inside due to COVID. There was a moment when we were walking through the woods at dusk and a couple of Tawny owls started hooting alongside a lot of other bird noise. That's the recording you can hear. I then sampled the owl and turned it into the pad you hear at the beginning.

This is my third week away from my instruments, and I yet again have sampled the recordings I took before leaving. I also used several snares from my final year uni project. I was a bit lazy with the chord pattern as a result, with not a lot of motivation to start and then I was stuck with the two/three chords.
The result is a little monotonous synthy song. Nothing special!

Like the vibe & atmosphere.  Great to know that you sampled the owl personally

makes me wanna dance like:

Great drum sounds and those shout out pads really make the track sound big. Love the natural sounds intermixed throughout. The owl sounds are really cool!

I was right, so much of your music is so much fun big_smile

I love the larger than life synth sections.

Maybe not your greatest song ever, though there are really nice ideas here. You should definetely revisit them in the future.

Cool bird voice usage, BTW smile
