FALLOUT

By 0x_colt on January 16, 2026 2:22 am

Some nuclear jungle produced entirely on the Dirtywave M8 for week 3.

For this week, I started out with a heavy focus on the drum choppage with an idea to keep a lot of "space to breathe" in the leads and breaks, but it ended up resulting in me finding a new bug for the 6.5.1 firmware on the M8. I was not able to render out my track without the drums becoming mangled by the bug, but thankfully Tim (the GOAT) fixed it the evening it was discovered, so it did not set me back too far.

I am sure I will be coming back to this track in the future as a remix or something, as it is a little short and could use another switch-up or something.

Let me know what you think down below - I'm always happy to hear feedback, whether it is positive or constructive.

If you like what you hear, you can find more of my music on streaming and on Bandcamp at 0x_colt.

dope, great break programming!

Leaving space for the breaks to dance was a great call. The vibes here are immaculate.

You absolutely nailed the whole 'space to breathe' vibe. Very atmospheric track.

Really like this one. The "space" in the breaks is great, has a bit of a Photek / Source Direct feel. Also that little "rave signal" motif with an M8 chippy slant. Nice!

love this!!

i like this classic sound on M8, would def go down that path if I was a tracker head, nice one.

Love the drum patterns in this; your emphasis on space really pays off/stuff doesn't feel crowded at all. Cranking the reverb on occasional hit adds a really nice accent. This totally has that moody 'ominous sludge is around you' vibe.

love the percussion right from the start with the bass.  Ooof and those snare breaks are killer \m/ Such a sinister sounding bass roll. Well done!

Good sense of danger. Looking forward to New Vegas.

I love the swirling clouds of ominous audio with the breaks right at the centre tethering them to reality.

This is an absolutely massive compliment! I love Photek/Source Direct and got a lot of inspiration from that style of track for this one. You also hit the nail on the head with what I was going for with the rave signal, but mangled with M8 style.

Cheers! If you ever go down the M8 route, you're gonna be a god. Your music already sounds like tracker music. wink

Thank you! I am happy that you noticed/liked the little reverb/delay pumps on certain hits. I love that little trick.

I feel like that could be a possibility in these 52 weeks.

Thank you so much for your comments on the last two tracks - your last comment in particular made me actually want to reach out directly and say "that is one of the kindest things I've ever heard!"

THANK YOU ALL FOR THE LOVE! The support and encouragement I have gotten from this community over the last few weeks has been so amazing. I didn't really post my music publicly prior to weeklybeats, so to hear that people are enjoying it and that they're interested in what I have to put out means a lot.
