Another MidiNES + Octatrack + samples experiment.

This one I wanted to play with the NES's natural ability to create a chorusing effect. I also learned how to emulate a side-chain compression with the built in LFOs. So I had one LFO controlling volume on the input for the two pulse channels and a midi LFO on the duty cycle of the first pulse wave. I liked the interplay between those two movements.

The samples used are drums from the ER1 and lead sample from the JD800. The lead was a little rushed.

Filter, delay, and reverb all from the built in effects of the Octatrack.

Really dug this one! I love the chorus effect of the NES. Nice sound design too.

This is REALLY GOOD.  Sounds like you have a handle on things and are beginning to flex!  Love that opening beat.  That's pretty awesome about your sidechain compression experiment.  I really want to get into that field.  Keep up the good work.

Great mix dude

Thanks! This week was a lot of experimentation and I was afraid I wasn't actually going to get a song out.

A handle might be a little generous but I'm learning something new every week and I'll take those as small wins.
