Spring Thing

So, another week where the first part was spent finishing last week's entry, and the other part was spent making this half-baked song that I will probably finish the coming week.

While working on last week's, I had some fun slowing it way down and playing it through cassette echo, and that became the objective for the new one. I kept the tune in mono (like usual), and had one output dry to the mixer, and the other going through a Moog MF-101 envelope filter and a T-Rex Replicator Junior tape delay.

I also added some sprinkles of SID, played crudely on the C64's keyboard. It went through its own tape delay, a modified Marantz PMD-221.

Love this. Whatever that noise is that first appears around 1:02 is incredibly fun.

I like the slightly melancholic vibe coupled with this 8-bit sparkle, such a beautiful palette of emotion and sound to get lost in heart

Impressed with the dour intensity of both main motifs―then that sparkle shows up and livens up the place by throwing fairy dust all around. tongue
