Backtracker

First time joining WeeklyBeats, and first time in many years where I engange in any sort of "scene" activity (which I'm thrilled about; nice to have some kind of external push to get things done again). The song was made in M8 Tracker, and it has a lot in common with the kind of music I used to make in One Hour Compos on IRC back in the DOS tracker days.

Really nice crisp 8-bit sounds here

Lovely melodies smile especially the one starting after 1:00

Original style and classic sounds smile

Oooo, this is a nice change of pace! Nice chord prog, and development. Said this on another post, but I love the variety we all get on m8, this is totally different from the other tracks I've heard so far.

the melodies glues it together and make the odd meters sound not odd at all

love melody!

Welcome to Weekly Beats!  This is my 5th go around here and I've found it to be a welcoming and supportive community.  It's definitely good for the old motivation.  I like the vibe on this one.  Sounds upbeat and positive, which is always nice.

The pitch slides on the secondary lead are fantastic, the melodic syncopation around 0:50--1:08 is remarkable (the little wobble pitch articulation and that melodic resolution) -- really, really good writing.

Welcome! Love this. I got a lot of my start in DOS on Fasttracker. Cool to see someone who worked in DOS as well!

Welcome to WB! Cool first track. I look forward to more!

4/4 is for the birds.  Love the odd time sig

Nice

very glad to hear that, it's hard to know how something is perceived by others, but I always want my oddities to have a natural flow.

this was funny, because when you wrote it I'd already finished my next entry which was a 5/8 thing called... Bird. smile
