And Then I Said Dubstep

By Zooloo75 on March 25, 2012 9:41 pm

I've been trying to get ideas for this week's song, and here's what I came up with!
I used vocals from "Let Me Free" and a recording from a loooong time ago of myself saying "And then I said dubstep".

This kind of reminds of "Bass Cannon" big_smile

I've really enjoyed your stuff so far Zooloo, and especially this. Heck yeah, dubstep! Keep it up!

@Dwight Davis
Thanks! Glad you enjoy my music, and I will keep it up! I can only improve can I? tongue

Just as long as you keep up what you've been doing, I don't see your quality going down at all.

Im not a big fan of brostep... but this is pretty decent

what this is, it's good!

Big sounds all the way whilst avoiding the worst of the cliches.  Lack of dynamics is my main cc but probably not your intent smile

Thanks everyone smile

@rdomain
Thanks - I avoided the bassdropper fans. The, "Bros" as people call them. >.>
I agree with the lack of dynamics, I usually use this style of Mixing to increase the overall energy of the track, although it does lose dynamics, it has all the sounds contribute to an overall mass.
I wouldn't do this type of mixing on a house song, or ambient song. It pretty much seems to be my dubstep mixing style. I will improve upon my mixing though in the future. Thanks smile

Awwwwww YEaaaaaa I kick that blocks out the sun!

The full sample comes from my song, "Let Me Free" but I chopped the vocals up and used them to just add more intensity. smile

I like the heaviness of this. Cool.

@xandox

My head hurts.

@NekoTheory

I kinda liked the heavy compression.

Wicked sinister sound. cool!

What? No Week 13? Why?

very nice!

Thanks everyone.

@Dwight Davis
Yeah... sad
I've been busy, sick, and had writers block all week. I just couldn't find any motivation to dish out anything for week 13 sad
