messed around in LSDJ this week, this is my first real stab at it and also using a tracker. will have to do something like this again soon!

there is an emulation accuracy issue with the noise channel. i didn't think of that! it's always something!!

submitted to BOTB with some noise fixes: https://battleofthebits.com/arena/Entry … ell/71572/

great work!!

thanks! it didn't start out cursed. but it was sounding pretty good in a minor key so i ran with it.

I LOVE THIS, it's so badass!!! Amazing job! I can't believe this is your first try at making something in LSDJ, this sounds great!!!

Fantastic work on this! Love how you pulled off the “epic arrangement” thing you’ve done before (huge variety of sections and themes, while all feeling cohesive)….all in new software on a tracker. Absolutely amazing. Awesome game music feel - I want to play the action shooter NES game this came from. Great work and fantastic track.

thank you so much! i was burnt out from using a computer all the time. LSDJ was a fresh of breath air... it was just what i needed! and i admit i have been creating fakebit stuff emulating tracker tricks for years. so in some ways it was easier to get some stuff done in LSDJ instead of a sequencer smile

thank you! i don't necessarily try to come up with an epic arrangement per say, i'm just trying to create something you can listen to more than once. i take a lot of inspiration from classic VGM. the masters sure knew how to come up with great themes that you never get tired of hearing.

it was a lot of fun making use of LSDJ to texturize lines. that was definitely the most fun part of writing this track. i admit i did use a sequencer for some of the lines (rough later tweaked in LSDJ), but the baroque melody... that was composed right on my RG35XX while i sitting in my comfy listening chair cool

funny story, i lost half of the track shuffling the memory card and had to recreate it.. but fortunately i had a save state with the first half of the baroque melody. thank the lord! i still had to recreate a bunch of stuff (though nothing too complicated.) i'd like to think the second version was better than the first.

okay, that's enough rambling for now!

"breath of fresh air" mad

I am in awe of how much you have going on here! It progresses so naturally that I didn't realise how many themes you have going on and....just wow. Amazing creation and it sounds so clean & gritty all at once.
