droneday

Yesterday was Drone Day: https://droneday.org/index.html

"Every year we make a noise together that stretches around the world."

I meant to participate yesterday in some way but with everything going on it just slipped my mind. So I decided to make this piece as my belated contribution.

I think there is something powerful about these participatory worldwide audio events -- a reminder that we are all connected.

What is Drone Day?
An annual celebration of drone, community, and experimental sounds!

Why do we drone?
To awaken tiny vibrations in our skin and between all our bones.

This is great!  As you know, I really get into this kind of stuff - it's almost like those magic eye visual illusions, when you hear this repeating sound for so long, you start to hear things within the sound, or your hear the combination of the "sound memory" and the active sound and you get something else.  kind of like staring at a picture then looking at a blank wall and seeing the image.

wicked ending

Yeah I like how you can get lost in the repetition -- I really like experiencing drones live since it surrounds you, fill the space, and becomes a full body experience. I find it much harder to listen to drone and ambient stuff at home since I get easily distracted...
