Gaseous Nodal Insertion

"Tapping directly into the datastream is a little overwhelming, even for an old pro." She gave me a slight frown. "We might not even find what you're looking for. At least put on those shades."
"What? Why?" I fumbled with the sunglasses and got them on my face.
"It's the dress code." The network shell solidified around us and I felt my ears pop. She got a determined look on her face. "Brace yourself. Opening link in 3, 2, 1..."

I listened to Gas a fair amount a few weeks back, and was curious to make something Gas-inspired. But it's been long enough since my last close listen that I probably just ended up making something strange that includes a compressor sidechain and my usual muddy approach. wink
And I saw in the forum that the Week 3 theme was non-4/4 meters (so this one is in 11/8).

Worked on this a little bit Friday, and a lot more Saturday, and then submitted it Sunday just after midnight Pacific Time. I used Logic with a hodgepodge of VSTi (or I guess AU), Paulstretch, and Audition.

Very powerful track! I feel like diving into cyberspace myself. I really like this BIG layers of sounds which really conveys a feeling of massive amounts of data stream feeding directly in your brain. Amazing!

Thanks! smile

If this is the sound you hear when jacking in, it must be worse than dial-in. Maybe add a hook somewhere along the way to symbolize the linking process, it can even be at the very start.
