Favonius

Didn't really know what I wanted to do this week. Then we visited friends who have a three-month old baby, who is calmed very reliably by the noise of a hair dryer. Using the ambiguity of the German word »Föhn« which means hair dryer as well as the Foehn wind, I quickly & dirtily wrote a little something around it.

The signal horn was caused by a stuck key on my Exquis. Need to fix that, too…

First time with the Shure SMV7+, didn't have enough time to properly set everything up so this is just some default setting. I'll play around with it more in the coming weeks smile

Man, this track was hypnotic before even before the kick came in... super easy to get lost in those super airy vocals and high synth voices.

Love this and where the idea came from! Airy in your tag is right - it’s a hypnotic drone, and the way your vocals sit in here is perfect. And when that kick came in? Awesome. I like the pulsing lead tone over the top - it keeps the kick from feeling locked in and changes the pulse of the song - like a wind changing direction.

Perfect song on a sunny but cold February morning smile
