This would also work as an epic soundtrack for Factorio's Space Age DLC.
"Fulgora is a planet in Factorio Space Age. Its defining features include oceans of heavy oil, nightly lightning storms, patches of Scrap, and ruins left by an unknown and likely highly advanced civilization. It also has an incredibly strong magnetic field", yea, to me, this fits.
Oh wow this is cool. What were the instruments involved? This has such a rich feel to it but that tape saturation/tone just sorta bathes everything in a way that really centres the atmosphere... with the reverb blooming into a much larger space.... its really immersive. And there's these little surprises throughout that kinda map a progression through a narrative ... lol rambling but this is my jam! Awesome!
