Revenge of the AI Presets

By XC3N on February 11, 2024 8:11 pm

Welcome back! This week, Softube's SH-101 plugin was 80% off so I bought it and used it for the main bassline and added a ghostly DX7 pad. I used a bit of AI (Microtonic Patternarium/Beatspace.) to find and tune a cool beat quickly and added a 909 layer to make it less 'cheating'. I also found a cool ARP 2600 preset and tweaked it a bit. The bridge called for a whiny lead and I instantly reached for the MS20. Then I was like... been a while since I played guitar...

Renoise
Plogue Chipsynth OPS7
SonicCharge Microtonic
Arturia ARP2600 / MS-20 V
Softube Model 82
D16 Drumazon 2
Gibson SG Menace + Native Instrument Guitar Rig 6
Vallhalla Vintageverb/Supermassive/Delay
Softube Dirty Tape
FabFilter Pro-Q3/C2
Ozone 9 Mastering

Rad cyberpunk track, really nice sound design, especially like the synths that come in at around 0:50. The guitar is a nice touch, needs more of it!

crafty composition, stays interesting throughout, love the cyber stylez too!

Cool "tekno" vibe on this one. I almost could feel the vinyl clothes and the oval fly-like tinted glasses. Punchy and fun!

Excellent thick synths and love when the beat kicks in.  Ala the main character flipped the switch on ass kickin mode.  That darker bassy pad gives it a sinister cyber punk feel fo sho.  Also really enjoyed hearing the ride cymbal come thru the soaring guitar lines.  Well done!

sounds great! the guitar is a sick addition. enjoyed looking at your screenshot as well!

Exceptional. The patient tempo of the dynamic breakbeat, the various styles and melodies of synths, the composition and mix.  The vibe is hopeless cyberpunk-industrial-post-apocalyptic-Saharan wasteland, keep doing this!

That guitar is really selling me.

oops, never replied to that one! yikes

I love renoise even though I use like... 30% of it haha I should probably add guitars more often, agreed.

Thanks for the encouragement! I'll be in the middle of an international move soon and I expect the rest of 2024 will be mostly M8 as a result, but I'll try to squeeze one last one in...
