Been wanting to explore FM only dungeon synth for a while. I really like the idea but this week's exploration ended up being a bit underwhelming.

Renoise / Plogue Chipsynth PortaFM/MD/OPS7
A bunch of different reverbs wink

Hell yeah! Please do big_smile

Hey! Très cool la track. Très bonne vibe et ya une belle progression. Le truc que je trouve qui manque c'est des des soundfx. Ça ajouterais de la variation et ça maintiendrait encore plus l'attention de l'auditeur. Good job man!

Effective sounds here. Feels very ominous but also beckoning to be wandered into. Loving the flute-ish melody towards the end, more of that please!! well done!

Ooohhh... Your choices with the FM Synth are giving me strong Sega Genesis vibes. Also, from my perspective, there's nothing underwhelming here, this would work wonders for a dungeon exploring scene, which I believe is the whole point of dungeon Synth, right? Anyways, awesome job! Looking forward to the next ones!

was curious to listen to this one, it's got the brightness of FM yet it doesn't take away from the moodiness of the Dungeon Synth aesthetic!

Thanks! You are 100% right, a lot of the instruments are made with the Sega Genesis chip using Plogue Chipsynth MD big_smile

FMega sound design!  I saw your comment about the ChipSynth MD, but this sounds way cleaner than anything I’ve ever heard from a Genesis.

haha tends to happen when you drench everything in reverb + use EQ wink

Dark, brooding, exotic... great FM track.

sick tracks! which reverbs to you recommend for renoise?

Thanks! I'm a big fan of the Valhalla Reverb plugins (vintageverb and shimmer) not expensive, stable and very useable

Recently I have been using Native Instrument RAUM a bit more, I got it for free during one of their holiday giveaways and it's actually fun to use.

But for the money you can't go wrong with Valhalla!

Oh I forgot! Valhalla SuperMassive is free, so play with that first!

just mellow enough not to wake the dragon... shhhhhhh

I think Emily nailed the concept, and I couldn't find any Elvira Mistress Of The Dark 16-bit Amiga GIFs, though ...

Nice FM work. Very suitable for the Adlib/OPL3 era, although I'm not an FM connosieur

Thank you! I will definitely check them out!

Lovely textures buddy, thanks for reminding me about the weekly beats.

i like how you let it get sparse in the middle, to let the haunting feel linger in its creep a bit, before meandering off into the darkness again... the perfect Dungeon FM smile
