So this week I was a little short on time. I wanted to give some love to the Elektron Analog 4 but things didn't go as planned, so I ended up being happy I wiped up a little beat in Renoise during my lunch time at work earlier this week wink

I did a search for "public domain sci fi movie" hoping to find good samples to play with. Luckily, the first hit on youtube was Attack From Space, a 1965 japanese movie. The intro music's first few seconds were just perfect and are the foundation for this beat. Pardon the lack of polish!

Tools used:

-Renoise 3.1
-Main sample from Attack From Space (1965, Public Domain)
-Sonic Charge MicroTonic
-YM VST
-Vallhalla VintageVerb
-D16 Repeater
-Mastered in LANDR

L'Espââââce !!!  J'adore! smile

Nice!

What a tripped out film (watched first 10 minutes).  I want a globe meter.  Great track / addaption too!

Really good idea to grab those old movies as sample material. I really like the result, also.

Quite hypnotic... and trippy movie indeed. Now you have to make an "emerald men" beat also smile

Nice ambiant track. A bit on the short side... Would have taken a couple minutes more!

There are some really nice textures in here! Sounds like i need to look into Valhalla as well, the verb on this is beautiful.

I like how the broken rhythm gets together, transforming to the solid one through the course of the track.
The final bars are satisfying. It's cool to have this contrasting beatless section.

Very, shall I say, cinematic.

Wow, bravo

Yeah I was short on time this week. I actually had a better version on my work computer but I didn't have access to it and it had a few issues I didn't get to sort out. Listening again I should've at least put an lfo on the hi hat, it's way too static and repetitive.

Thanks! Honestly for the price vallhalla vintageverb is a goldmine. They recently added 2 new super-coloured engines with a lot of personality and I have been using them a lot to create soundscapes. Highly recommended.

Thanks! One of those happy accidents (Bob Ross style) where the sample just worked by itself and created a nice convoluted build up
