Seventh District

"The Seventh District of Nowhere is known by residents as the 'District of the Arts'. It is the artistic hub of Nowhere, and a somewhat common tourist attraction as a result. Every last corner of the District was designed artfully, complex architecture folding over itself, clamoring for space. The District is densely populated with works of art, so much so that many artists living in the District find it overstimulating and overwhelming. As such, well-kept and quarantined spaces engineered and just-as-artfully designed to be unobtrusive and less stimulating exist to facilitate the perpetuation of the District's arts. It is not unusual for old works to be taken from the walls, un-built, or otherwise removed only to be almost immediately replaced with another."

This track was built to show the sort of layering that goes on in this space. More and more is submitted, each instrument adding its own flair to the collective whole, increasing seemingly endlessly in awe, until a realization is made, and the image one sees in their mind shatters upon its comparison to the image one sees in reality. At least, that's the way I take it. Most of the song was composed while thinking about other things, and I hope that feeling of otherness and unrelated ideas being mashed together permeates the whole of the Districts series of tracks.
