Pitiless Pursuit

"The coded message is clear: 'You have been spotted by the vagabonds of this land. We are en route to you currently. Prepare yourself'. You shudder at your seemingly sealed fate and begin to sprint in the opposite direction from the drums. You can now clearly see the vagabonds approaching you upon a vessel of scrap that sails across the ash dunes of this place. You are hopelessly outmatched by the vagabonds; the only thing you can hope for is to survive for a short while longer. You continue to run, feeling crestfallen and with defeat plaguing your face."

This week is the actual drum-n-bass type thing I wanted to do initially for week 12. It's not much in terms of depth or complexity, but it was fun to create and I hope it is fun to listen to. In terms of world-building and sound design, I wanted the song to sound like a constant, high-tension struggle between the listener and some force that is evidently a lot more powerful. At the end, something important happens, but it is unknown as to what exactly that important event is.

A rapid and relentless rhythm. Very fun to listen to, though I fear for our protagonist -- still, it sounds like an unanticipated event at the end might provide some reprieve...
