saturation skill

Here I imprinted my Q-Rosh track on polycarbonate with the recordcutter and made the whole thing even more analog and lofi. You can listen to the original version as Q-RoSH on WB.
this week I was occupied with working and an interesting seminar about skills in DBT by Marsha M Linehan. The only day I could find time for music was on sunday afternoon. And the song I wanted to make should be about the magic of tape cassettes. Everything should sound like a very badly used tape, almost losing the surface with the magnetic film, still sounding saturated. As well I wanted to include the typical dolbybutton effect, that feels like suddenly standing in the rain.
The music is a quick jam with the SP404, effectpedals and the OP-1. It was difficult to bring the result into an audible mastermix, because the substance was very nibbled. The record version here has an extra vinylish quality from the surface noise, which I love so much. cheers.

The textures here are so nice!

I do find it interesting how the different mediums influence the sound, listened to both versions and they each have distinct character, I think I prefer this one.  I recently bought a CD player and hadn’t listened to CDs in many years, I listened to Murcof’s “Utopia” on CD and then the vinyl version, they both had their place and sounded different and good, no right or wrong way to listen.
