Trampin Out

Going away for the weekend so had to get organised and get this in before i left.

Was leaning on familiar patterns a bit over the past few weeks so wanted to do something different, for this i drew heavily from Stepping Out by Joe Jackson and a few Supertramp songs (honestly i think i have got a little too close, to the point that i feel i may just be aping the source material, but happy to go with it). I've always loved the use of the numerous keyboards in these songs, piano, organs, wurli's, rhodes, etc. which are central to the production and sound. I particularly admire the way Joe Jackson was completely shameless using a drum machine and programed bass (never to do it again).

Honestly amazed I'm still going at this after half a year. I had intended at the start to only do a song a fortnight or month, but ended up just doing it every week. Been blown away at the quality everyone is putting up, and smashed my standards with what i was capable of. If the second half produces similar results that'll be a bunch of music i never thought i could produce.

Enjoy you legends

So fun! I like how the song stays very coherent while having multiple parts with different keywords. It feels like an enjoyable trip through nature.
