Rushcutters

Weird week, didn't have much train time for M8, and happened across my WB24 tracks which sparked some funny feelings. This is a mashup of a couple of WIPs I started back then but never finished, sounds like Syntakt fx track doing a trance gate thing on Take 5, plus a couple field recordings. Hoping to explore more of that hazy nostalgic collage thing that I was doing at the time.

This is so awesome, dude! I can feel the different WIP pieces, but they come together so good, and I love how this evolves and changes. Really, really like this!

Really cool and crunchy sound, the sidechain/pump is really cool. Great track!

Great idea to mash up WIPs during an off-week.  My favorite portion is the second quarter with the liminal voices-in-a-tunnel in the background (field recording?)

Thanks! Yeah field recording, I've been using the same little pocket recorder since 2010 so I have a pretty deep archive of stuff to draw from and it's all emotionally loaded in one way or another.

I need to start bringing my field recorder with me on trips. This is very trippy in a good way. The melody at 1:44 sounds like a banger but a little shy to come out. Impressive feat to make it so cohesive even though it's a wild journey!

Feels like hunting for stations on AM radio, where the signal is only strong enough that the loud hits cut through and is contrasted with gaps of ambient sounds. Crunchy goodness.
Love the bass that sounds like it constantly folds in on itself in the second half.

Yeah I'm always trying to find ways to evoke the hazy crushed interference vibe!
