my cat looks like this

--------------

m8, all synthesized except for tom sample, and me saying "doo" .
i spent hours futzing around with bass patches till i got this one.

the rasp is NBP with high resonance so it's tonal, modulating a ratio-0 SAW.  so think of the SAW then as a lookup table.  if I set SNC phase right, the NBP tone just wiggles along the slope of the saw—it's almost like a thruput.  but if I gradually turn up the NBP volume, eventually the noise just barely crosses the wraparound of the saw.  so we get a rasp that's vaguely tied to the tone.  Then the other two operators are a typical FM setup.  the touchscreen X/Y controlled the volume of each half of the patch, and i twiddled it live.  other elements of the patch's character: POST W[1 or 2 i forget and don't feel like checking], and a high-resonance bandstop that's modulated not by an envelope but by a coarse table, so it's like a steppy envelope.  initially i was going for 303-but-different but then it evolved to this.

then it's just some funny percussion and a bit of harmony/melody.  i had sat too long uninspired with the bass patch twiddling, so the rest is just tossed together, but it's OK.

all these textures, too sexy, i'm seeing your cat real clearly now, with its mighty strut through all the sexy rasp heart

Those fills are bonkers, dude! This tickles my brain in some awesome ways.

ohhh i'm weird-dancing here!!!! nice one indeed!!! props! doo!!

Epic track, bonkers sounds, crazy beats, epic track!

amazing track, I don't really know what else to say other than that its peak

So good. That rasp is what my headphones sound like after they've been through the wash, gonna have to try out that FM trick. Love that wiggly lead too, almost sounds like a cuica.

Love your wild ass sound design!

Nice and bonkers. Love the way you allow your sounds to just run off in weird and unexpected ways but still keep it a coherent whole.

Oh, this takes me back in time a bit, to when I was listening to Ove Naxx and similar awesome shit. Thanks for that!

fucking filthy and a real head bobber. good stuff!
