shower thought

after 10 weeks of LSDJ we're BACK on the M8 !!!!!!  i can write POLYPHONY again wow !

100% M8 synthesis, stereo out through my new analog heat mkii.  yet another day-of WB concoction.

cronschy.  hopefully it comes across as deliberately and tastefully so, and not just like a bad recording.

unoriginal last-minute title.  the middle section was indeed a shower idea.

used the "enhancement" circuit on the heat.  supposed to be a tube-like saturation i think.  plus some live fiddling with the filter, and filter freq pan depth off the envelope follower.  overdid it a bit in some spots, oops.

secret trick: some pretty arbitrary tuned-by-ear intonation scale.  very audible when overdriving chords.  the ugly approximate ratios of equal tempermant get amplified.  (or maybe you want them amplified even more than usual).

Love the timbre of that low/midrange cronchy+filter+echo stab thing.  I need to look up what an Analog Heat actually is; I'll I've known up until now is that everyone who talks about it appears to love it.

That sounds cool; maybe accounts for some of the character of that final heaving pad chord.   Did you dial that in on the M8 side or the heat side?

1:33 had me

The cronch is definitely right on the cusp.

The overdrive is so juicy, I really need to get an AH too when there's an used one available here

So much to enjoy in these short 4 minutes...

Ohhhhh! That's a tasteful beat with all the choicest elements of tension and release so gracefully placed, got my ears perked from start to finish like:

this track is so ridiculously good.  also congrats on catching up on the vids!

That "WHOW" sound is like trademarked Wangus sound. heart

And yes, not only does it sound intentional AF, sounds like the beginning of a something and this something owns. Long live the boom.
