week 3

Wanted to focus on sound design this week.  out came something very deliberately distorted/discordant/distraught.
M8 tracker, all synthesized (hell yea), no samples, raw internal render.

silly "features":
* nearly all the FM algorithms used on one instrument (i think all but 02 and 08, for some reason)
* steady nearly-full-range LFO modulation of a WRAP limiter (what)
* 4-chord progression that uses all 12 TET tones (why)

violent start but gets more chill. nice progression! must have been tough. well done!

this is crunchy and tasty - nice sound design and rhythm work

Frumpky.

I love this crazy FM percussion

vibe!

Great programming as always. Definitely would buy a fm percussion pack by you some day tongue
Love how the tension gets a lower towards the end

Absolutely love that intro sound & it glitching the eff outta itself past the first minute mark. The no-samples aspect of this is a cherry-on-top, the kicks sound absurdly good, but the whole thing is compelling. Inspiring work!

this is wiiiiiild! really showing off M8's potential for killer sound design, really nice track too, love the change at 2:50

Oh wow I love that glitchy vibe, super aggressive alien industrial sound.

Love the bass drone happening under all the crenchy. Also cool chord prog that comes in.

i should, but i get so attached to the drums i make specifically for each track...
maybe a made-for-sharing drum crafting session sometime...

i spent way too long fiddling with the main synth patch finding all the glitches
it was risky business, so many teeny sweet spots that i'd lose forever if i wasn't paying close attention

i often try to avoid the kinda-disconnected bass drone strategy (most of the time it's more interesting if the bass is integral to the gnarl).  but 100% worth it here, there would be no way to preserve bass through the horrific mangling involved in the crungsch

I could listen to like any 30s of this on repeat

Love your visuals.
