Regarding the Oxx pops, it's best to embrace them as an extra rhytmic sound unfortunately no way to get rid of them on the DMG. (I've heard GBA does it a lot less)

i've come to embrace the Oxx pops, and def couldn't switch to GBA with what i hear about bass response on any gameboy other than the DMG...
