Sunless

This week I would occasionally open up my project file for this song and then record some ideas. I just kept recording more and more ideas, not actually structuring it or layering it. So, of course, I put it off until like noon time today where I was like "I guess I should like, work on my song" and then spent the next five hours working on it with little to no breaks. I haven’t had much of a chance to really sit down and listen to this thing the whole way through so I'm sure its riddled with flaws. The mixing is probably bad, and I also decided that I was going to do some vocals and I really only gave myself 3 or 4 takes on each lyric before I was like "Ok, time to move on, not much time left". So I kind of cringe listening to what I recorded, but we'll see how this turns out with time I guess.

Also, I really cut it too close this time for submission time. I attempted upload 2 minutes before submission time and the upload got stuck so I had to get a link to submit it after the deadline >.< Thanks for the link aday. I don't know why but this thing was taking forever to upload and any small nudge like typing in the description was causing it to break.

btw here's the bullshit lyrics:

Sunday morning I rise and I face
Face a new dawn
Long way
Long time ago

But I want you to remember
All the love we used to know
Think of me sometime
My love

In the evening I sit and my thoughts
They turn to you
I think of my home

And I need you
And I need you
And I need you

But I want you to remember
All the love we used to know
Think of me sometime
My Love

*excessive wailing*

In the evening I sit and my thoughts
They turn to you
I think of my home

But I want you to remember
All the love we used to know
Think of me sometime
My Love

But I want you to remember
All the love we used to know
Think of me sometime
My Love

I love CringeCore

Congrats for spending so much time on this track though.  Yeah, the mixing could use some touch-ups, but the actual song is REALLY REALLY good.  I love your voice here and great chord changes.  Your big echo-wail is perfection.  Wow, your bass playing is actually secretly off the chain.  Dang.  Epic solo breaks, love when it comes back full force at 4:22.  Congrats on making an 8min track that was not boring.  Looks like a lot of work!  Great job.

The upload button is a cruel mistress! smile

I downloaded and favorited this track!

I edited my tags so CringeCore was included, lol. And thank  you so much for the kind words smile. I definitely feel good about the material that's written, I'm just kind of bummed that I procrasinated so long that I didn't have time to take like an hour break and come back to mix it with fresh ears. I mean, there's clipping in some parts and I even have the background vocals louded than the main vocals, oof. haha.

But yeah, I also enjoyed my echo-wail because my girlfriend wasn't home and I felt like I could just belt as loud as I could without bothering anyone haha. And then I slathered it in reverb and toned down the volume so its like background noise. I've heard that kind of thing done in songs I like so I'm chuffed I got a chance to do it in one of mine smile. Glad it came across as cool to you too!

Riddled with flaws is my MO so I can tell you this is not at all riddled with flaws! It's a great song, sounds well put-together to me. And I also admire your technical proficiency with all the instruments.

oh, CringeCore! I think that is my genre. Thanks you guys

Great song and great singing. And I agree with @orangedrink - very nice bass playing. Super tasty, just the right amount, not too flashy but well executed to serve the song. Very nice piece!

Love the guitar and bass work. Very cool that you were able to lock your Sunday to "finish" that track. There is a lot into that. Good work.

this a monument. Love the exellent work on your instruments. Respect.

Sometimes lyrics don't matter. The composition is amazing.

I dig this, man. You should totally think about coming back to it when the cringe-factor has worn off and you can listen to the idea fresh. It's rad.

this is still one of your best
