Begunning of the Beganned

Something went pretty wrong here. Recorded everything this morning with a personal deadline of noon (or 5 hours before submission) because I'm visiting my parents today for dinner and a movie. There's a couple of sections that fall apart due to being slightly off the metronome. I'm not sure if I just messed up the rhythms or if I had some latency issues that then caused me to record everything off, but it sounds bad. I tried my best to pull things forward and back to be back on time but to no avail. Tired of messing with it at this point because I'd have to record all the parts again, not worth it. The idea of the song is there.

But hey, got something in for week 8 at least. Was struggling to come up with anything all week. And I guess the lesson here is that I need to pay close attention to the metronome, it also doesn't help that this song is filled with all kinds of odd time signatures that I didn't bother to figure out.

Gotta admit, I love how wonky this is. I'm being hurled around the tune and it feels great smile

totally dig this wonky mathy tune

I'm definitely picking up what you're putting down here, it's really not as bad as you claim it to be.

Thanks! I don't mean to sound like I'm always putting my music down haha. I'm mostly just bothered by some of the desync issues. I recorded all the live instruments before I worked on the drum machine and it was only at that point that I realized that everything sounded a bit off the beat and, since there's so many odd time signatures that I didn't bother to figure out, I was having difficult figuring out how to corral everything back on the beat in the grid. Other than that and lack of proper mix time, I enjoyed writing this! Glad you dug it.

That's really a great way to put it. I'm having a lot of fun with this track! I feel like I'm in a bouncy house and I'm not the big kid. It's got a surreal beauty to it.

this has a cool post-rock / math-rock vibe. i don't think the rhythm is that off. there are a couple parts here and there where things are slightly out of sync, but for the most part everything works well. and yeah it sounds more like a sync issue than a tempo issue
