A Moment of Reprieve

Not my finest work but I liked the vibe. This is all mostly one-take improve (for each instrument) and then just editing the midi by moving things around, fixing out of key notes, etc. Was a cool learning opportunity because I learned that, in Reaper, I can check multiple midi tracks and layer them all together and move the notes around. That way I'm not having to jump out of one track and into another.

Been playing Final Fantasy 6 for the first time this week. Really enjoying it, just hit the midpoint of the game. So that's where the inspiration comes from. I thought about making a chip tune song which is how this sort of starts off and then I decided I wanted to get orchestral with it.

I gotta get back into the flow for this next week. Been procrastinating and playing games too much. Writing a song each week has been easier when I at least dedicate 30 to 60 minutes each day just scheming up ideas until I find something I really like that I could easily pour several hours into on the weekend.

i like the atmosphere!

The strings are nice. The flute is nice too. I'm not sure what's going on in the bass, but I can dig it.

Oh man, FF6 is a blast... definitely my favorite. Nice vibe with this one.

Great vibe, the flute and the synth contrast each other in such a nice way.

I love FF6, since it came out I would start a new game every winter. Haven't done that for awhile though and I only ever beat it once...

Anyway, this track is awesome. It's deadly serious yet playful at the same time.

Do you have any tracks on here that you'd describe as lo fi?

Not really I think. Though now that you ask the thought has entered my mind, I could try fusing lo fi with some other musical interest in a future song.

Cool. I'm thinking about putting together a Lo-Fi playlist and think your stuff could fit really well.
