It's interesting because my feeling is for these compact tracks, around the 2-3 minute mark, that explore something in that timeframe, rather than going on for 5+ minutes which I generally find hard to sustain, unless it's more ambient/drifty/droney. And yet there's something in me I can't quite pin down that thinks 2 minutes = filler, interlude, less work etc, and that's just wrong. Wish I could extricate myself from this wrongthink.
