Robot

Touched up another really old song and cleaned up and remixed the drums, touched up the arps and basses. Super fun song with really fun synths. Some parts remind me of Mux Mool!

I cleaned up a lot of the wubs, removed a lot of old reverb I would add into everything, and added a Convilution Reverb with a way shorter Decay to allow for more silence between drum hits. I like that technique a lot more lately because silence can actually feel more impactful with drums than filling it with tons of noise.

I used a lot of Eli Derp samples to layer over my Abakus / Russ Davies / Cinnamon Chasers samples for Drums and Kicks. Sometimes I use J Dilla samples but I also dip into Underbelly samples. I might dive into supporting Bishu into Patreon and see how that morphs my beat making process when I use his samples here and there.

Just showing a bit of my mental process of how the sausage is made, per se. ~

I haven't really gone over more of my experimental or aggressive beats since around 2020. Wow, 6 years. I was studying a lot of different aggressive EDM producers, like Moon Boy, CRWTH, Underbelly, lately Bishu Beats. I'm also checking out John Makes Beats.

I was also in general listening to a lot of Mux Mool's music on Bandcamp and would enjoy making slightly delayed snares, although I don't think I fully utilized this technique here despite liking a bit of swagger to my beat where I desynch drums and syncopate synths and arps to one another to make unique groove fills. Anyways, nerding out again!

I hope you guys like it. Robot is a banger. The only thing I didn't really touch where the high hats that often appear in a lot of my beat templates, and I generally mix them up or delete them entirely. I figure I'd keep them in for nostalgia sake.

Have a lovely day, stay hydrated!

It starts all Kraftwerk then goes off on one with some craziness.

Sounds like you had fun making this.
