Scars

Well, it's been a rough month. Multiple crises descended on my life one after another leaving no room for time or energy spent on anything other than figuring out how to keep everything around me manageable. Sometimes life can be unrelenting, and I've definitely been testing the limits of how much chaos a person can handle at once.

Over the last week or so, I've finally started to wrangle things under control somewhat and even found some time for myself here and there to write some notes and record some sounds. So, after a few weeks absent, I'm hoping this week's submission is a first step towards getting back to normal and a sign that things are starting to get easier. I hope you enjoy what I put together this week, and I'm really looking forward to going through the past few weeks submissions and listening what you all have been up to while I've been gone. Listening to the new Weeklybeats submissions has been a regular part of my weekly routine that brings me a lot of joy and I'm grateful to be able to make that a part of my life again. heart

Heeey, welcome back! Missed hearing your work, seems it’s been a challenging quarter for a lot of us based on the usual reading in between the lines (or the lack thereof), but hope that we can help each other rather than not. Very excited to hear new work also, wonderful pretty piece of music, this! What is the main synth here?

Thank you! Feels good to be back. The main synth sounds were created with the Digitone.(With reverb from DBA Rooms instead of the built-in Digitone verb)

I too have been swimming in chaos, music has always been my oasis. This hits on so many levels. Glad to see you have found time again. DBA Rooms is such a great pedal.

Hope you can get on top of things

oh this is a really pretty piece, great crisp airy ambience

it feels like sometimes all the hard life stuff sometimes falls in a cascade for a season - hope you are entering a season of calm or at least one that will have some space for rest/recovory - this piece feels like the sound of healing - really lovely!

Sorry to hear things have been rough for you lately and I hope things start to calm down a bit for you too. I do love my Rooms. When I bought it I was really just looking for some character heavy reverb, but I've found it to be more versatile than expected. There are also a lot of interesting ways you can use it to shape sounds during sound design by using it with the reverb tail turned all the way down and then playing with the other settings and wet/dry mix.

Thank you for the kind words. heart Things are slowly starting to calm down, and I'll definitely be burning some major vacation time once the time for rest/recovery is finally here.

This is beautiful, reminds me of hyperlight drifter in some ways. Great ambiance and harmonies.
