poetic memory

after ~3 agonizing years of recording music, I think I finally found a production style I can be happy with on this track. now onto honing it!

made with guitar, bass & pocket piano. ableton track doubles run through a microcassette recorder

brutally honest criticism welcome, especially on the production side of things

thanks!

You can be happy with such a nice song. Truly love this lofi production.

love the tone of microcassette, OK Ikumi always did wonderful stuff with it. Feel like your moniker really fits this sound as well, totally has an "underground Luau" vibe. Those bubbly synths near the end are just divine.

Time-traverling via the airwaves. Mastery and mystery!

So tell us about your producing process.

it just involves running each track individually out of my interface onto a microcassette recorder and then playing it back through to ableton. then i line the original track up with the tape version and level, eq and glue compress the 2 to taste. pretty simple and can be time consuming depending how many tracks you have but i feel like it colors the tracks nicely without (me) getting overwhelmed with a ton of effects and plugs

That sounds way more involved that it could've been, but one can't argue with authentic results.

Wunderbar, great atmosphere!
