90s big beat/electronica as a throwback to Fatboy Slim and The Chemical Brothers.

This tune was born when my older brother (who lives in another state, and frankly is the person responsible for 80% of my musical tastes) sent me some guitar clips over messenger a few nights ago, I "sampled" the main riff from one of them and corrected the timing a little for the sake of using it as a loop. I only use stock Reason 10 sounds and Norman Cook "Skip To My Loops" which was my first ever Reason Refill back in 2004. It's probably on the short side for the "journey" I tried to call back to the many style changes you'd hear in some of these tunes a couple of decades ago, ending on a 4/4 beat etc after going through a few different breakbeat sections and a breakdown full of filters on the main loop. Oh and the reverse section, super Chemical Brothers.

The mix is probably quite muddy and stuff is being drowned out, but today was my eldest daughter's 7th birthday (which is crazy, I remember talking about her arriving soon at the end of WeeklyBeats 2012, now she's writing music with me for WeeklyBeats 2020 and my third daughter is due in May!), my brother's name is Paul, and mine is Lynden. Hence the title!

I feel I was also due for a change of style after 5 weeks of punk/metal. No vocals on this tune, but that was kind of on purpose due to the genre I'm honouring.

I threw down some electric guitar parts like the main lead for the climax and some trem picked guitars during the first section.

FUCK. YES. Brings me back to eating dunkaroos and skateboarding in my grandparents driveway.

Listened back to back. Favorited.

Happy birthday to you daughter smile . Feb 7th was my little one birthday (3 years old). and this will be the big one on the 15th. Time is flying!

Ahhh thank you so much. I just love how supportive the WB community is, I'm still trying to catch up on listening/commenting myself but I appreciate every single comment, especially ones like these!

Aww yea, really feeling the vibes. Why are the lyrics LPW though? Mix is fine though.

Our initials wink good pick up and cheers!

The guitar riff is pretty cool.  First thought was the band Curve, with a rawness and 90s vibe.  Nice backwards effects. Overall, I like the rawness and energy! Samples are well placed and fun. Happy birthday to your daughter! Mine will be 17 this year... holy shit!

Wow, nice job big bro on the guitar!  Love this BIG BEAT - I used to dance for hours by myself in my room to dig your own hole and better living through chemistry back in the day.

Hi all, 2021 Tweaklab here. I survived 2020. I hope you all did too! Today is my daughter's 8th birthday and I just so happened to be re-living some WeeklyBeat vibes from last year and stumbled across this, crazy thing is, 12 months later and this tune is now in a documentary about GoldenEye 007 called "GoldenEra" and I've been writing the score since 2019, keen to see it out in the wild just like GoldenEye XBLA smile
