Lockdown (Housos 2020 Theme)

By Tweaklab on November 22, 2020 11:02 am

So after 6 months I can now release the OFFICIAL NEW THEME SONG for Housos vs Virus: The Lockdown. That's right. I got to write my first theme song for a TV series, one that I have watched for 10 years!

The album (details below) contains a bunch of re-hashed WeeklyBeats from 2016 and 2018, along with 3 original tunes I wrote especially for the show this year which was an awesome experience.

The writers of the show were kind enough to give me permission to use the show's name and likeness for a compilation album of the 30 tracks of mine that were used in the 5 part series, which after a couple of months, I finally submitted to DistroKid this weekend and I'm pleased to say it has made it to major platforms already, hyper follow link below! Cover art was shot in our own backyard and edited by the talented BrassSkeleton to look more graffiti like + to add the Housos logo (the crack is real though!)

For those outside Australia, Housos is a Logie Award winning over the top TV show based on housing commission residents (fictional characters however heavily based on a very real part of Australian culture) the show is also written, produced and starred in by Paul Fenech who also made the shows Fat Pizza and Swift & Shift Couriers, shows I have loved for almost 20 years so it's really surreal to get to release a 2nd album based on one of his shows in as many years (if you haven't already, check out "Big and Cheesy Music from Fat Pizza" which I released this time last year!)

If you read this much, thank you for listening to my random beats and riff attempts over the last 8 years... I still can't figure out how they are deemed good enough for a handful of TV shows and a feature film but hey, who am I to argue with Pauly? Glad I sent that CD to him back in 2012!

Oh wow congratulations, that is really an awesome accomplishment! Not being from Australia, I was not aware of this tv show but that must be really awesome to be able to contribute with your music.
That track is HUGE. The guitar tone is really just right, not too distorted, it keeps the snarl and the grit, it's organic in the right way. Very very cool.
