Act 1 - Dawn of the Ever Dusk

This is my first attempt at making a seamless EP/Album with tracks that transition smoothly, like the days you'd get a CD album with no gaps between tracks.

This is made up of 4 previous WeeklyBeats I've done this year (with some revisions), given the 2nd track "Rise Against" has been greatly re-worked with new and improved guitar recordings among other sounds (and now includes a vocoded vocal which is a huge first for me!) I felt I'd spent enough time getting this together this week to count as a new "creation".

I had some time to myself this week so I recorded a bunch of sound FX with the laptop and USB mic including keyboard typing on a Commodore 64, a PS2 Slim booting up / shutting down / spinning which can be heard as the computer/mainframe sequence around 2 minutes, and towards the end the last track includes some arcade machine coin mech / coin door sounds thanks to the cabinet out back.

Track list:

1. Sharp By Design
2. Rise Against
3. Deafinity
4. Antisocial Medium

Here is an unlisted YouTube video for the full 7 track EP that I feel is in a good "Demo" state at the moment, I was hoping to have this thing fully mastered with a tie in comic before 2017 but it looks like it's just going to keep on evolving but hey, I'm fine with that smile

The idea behind the story for this album is going to be very Matrix / Ghost In The Shell with a bit of Mad Max in the mix, heavily influenced by concept albums by Celldweller "Wish Upon A Blackstar" and "End of an Empire".

Oh and the very repetitive vocal/hook (inspired by Underworld/Daft Punk/Celldweller)

Rise against, we're gonna
Rise against, we're gonna
Rise against;
It's time for our time.

Rise against, we're gonna
Rise against, we're gonna
Rise against;
We're gonna make them fall.

Rise against, we've got to
Rise against, we've got to
Rise against;
Any time is our time.

Rise against, we gotta
Rise against, we gotta
Rise against;
It's time to take it all.
